Praise Project, Week 33

Where to start? It’s been a week I hope to never repeat, but here’s what I’m praising God for in light of it:

1). He is good when we are not.

2). Mistakes don’t mean He doesn’t have a backup plan.

3). Everything is redeemable.

4). My daughter’s rock solid faith.

5). God loves me; simple and profoundly comforting.

6). I may be a bit shaken up, but God is as solid today as He was yesterday.

7). For these words that were sent to me this week:

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Eph. 3:14-21, NKJV).

3). Friends who encourage

4). Answered prayer

5). The fact that God has given me the desire of my heart-to teach ESL

6). AMAZING ESL teachers that I get to work with

7). Jesus loves me; a simple yet profound truth that I have found myself clinging to recently with an iron-clad grip.

Praise Project, Week 31

This week I’m praising God:

1). Last week I mentioned that I was finally getting my new kitchen floor. I am so thankful for people like our friend, Jason, who gave up 12 hours on Saturday to install it for us.

2). For the smell of rain.

3). For early morning coffee dates with my husband, just the two of us in our recliners like elderly retired people.

4). For new beginnings, not just for me, but for the myriad people I know starting new careers and going back to school.

5). For the example God has set for me on how to be a better parent. I don’t recall anywhere in the Bible where He freaks out over the mistakes of His kids. Must work on this.

6). For what God is going to do in my kids’ lives. I am waiting in eager anticipation!

7). For these teenage years. Some days they are more challenging than I dreamed possible, but I love the people my kids are becoming and the spiritual processing they are engaged in. Plus, it beats potty training any day!
